THE OBJECTIVE
AKA NYC publishes an annual calendar with each month featuring the art of a student intern from the School of Visual Arts. I was asked to create a cover for the calendar.
THE APPROACH
In 2023, AKA became the leading marketing agency on Broadway. The bold typeface and color choices are reminiscent of the flashy and uniquely chaotic Theater District. In 2024, AKA was selected as the advertising agency for the new Alicia Key’s musical, Hell’s Kitchen. The background image of a street in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood is treated black and white to portray the 90’s setting of the show, with a noise effect to create excited suspense ahead of its premiere in the spring.
